He appears to be the lone speed of the race. If he gets into a good
rhythm and stays unchallenged for the lead, it could make it tough for
the others to beat him. And Shackleford is pretty stubborn to give up
the lead once he has it. Maybe he's not "bred" to go the distance, but
quite a few times heart will beat out talent.
